Funding to start a business in Luxembourg

Luxembourg combines grants, tax incentives and public loans. Amounts are significant, but almost every scheme has one rule: apply before you commit the spending. Company structure and timing should be decided together with funding.

  • First-time founder aid: EUR 2,000 a month for 6 months
  • Fit 4 Start: up to EUR 150,000, no equity taken
  • Young innovative enterprises: up to EUR 1,000,000 over 3 years

Frequently asked questions

Can schemes be combined?

Often yes, for example Fit 4 Start followed by young innovative enterprise aid, or investment aid alongside the investment tax credit. Cumulation rules and the de minimis cap of EUR 300,000 over three years are checked scheme by scheme.

Do I need a company before applying?

Not always. Fit 4 Start accepts a project without a company. First-time founder aid, on the other hand, requires a business permit issued less than 6 months earlier.
